Newfoundland... a photographers paradise
Have you always wondered what it would be like staying in your very own lighthouse? How about staying in two of them on one vacation?
Do icebergs captivate you? If they do, there is no better place than iceberg ally in Newfoundland.
How about a visit to the two UNESCO World Heritage sites of Gros Morne and L’Anse Aux Meadows where Vikings first visited North America?
In 2019 I am returning to Newfoundland with a focus on iceberg alley, humpback whales, landscapes, lighthouses, night skies and the endless seascapes.
We will begin our time together as we live the life of a lighthouse keeper overlooking the entrance to “Iceberg Alley”... the large tabular or cathedral icebergs are being drawn down the current and you are in the perfect spot to see them as they start their final journey.
Here we will hear the Whales’ call echoing off massive icebergs in our own private cove and hopefully awaken to the sounds of the Humpbacks calling you across vast stretches of the North Atlantic. From this location, we will explore the rugged landscape made famous in “The Shipping News”, the Pulitzer prize-winning novel and Kevin Spacey movie.
Together we will head south along the Viking Trail. Winding through Gros Morne National Park, the varied landscapes will beckon to be photographed. From L’Anse Aux Meadows, past the rugged shoreline of Western newfoundland, we head further south to the Codroy Valley where we end up at our second private lighthouse inn of this magnificent journey.
Its never too early to secure your space. These trips always sell out and there are spaces taken already for my 2019 trip.
