Dramatic Coastlines, Seascapes and Lighthouses in Newfoundland

Newfoundland is known for its dramatic coastline, colorful fishing villages, wildlife, and the blue icebergs that slowly drift down from Greenland in the fabled iceberg alley. Photographic opportunities are diverse, and landscape photographers will find an abundance of subjects to photograph.

We’ll be photographing from the first sunrise in North America to sunset. We have a network of local contacts that always notify us of the best photographic opportunities. Your tour leader will always be available to make sure you make the most of every situation.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Incredible locations with dramatic coastal views

  • You will be staying in the areas where we will be doing most of our photography.

  • We will provide transportation which includes pickup and drop-off at the St. Johns airport.

  • The days are long here in the summer. Expect to be up as early as 5:00am and getting back to our hotel sometimes as late as 10:00pm.

  • The walks to the photography locations for the bird colonies are on paths that can be as long as 1mile.

  • Lots of fun, inspiration by two pro photographers, and a healthy mixture of quality, and quantity of wildlife images.

Why Join This workshop

We have over a decade of experience traveling the back country roads and coastlines in Newfoundland. We know where to take you, and when to be on location to capture the best images in Newfoundland. We also have a network of contacts that keep us apprised of whale and iceberg activity. This knowledge becomes invaluable during our tour. It ensures we get you to the locations when the opportunity presents itself... a benefit other tours may not offer their clients.

We work hard to ensure we meet each of our clients at their level, providing ample 1 on 1 time while we are in the field and in front of the computer. Because of all these reasons, we promise a unique and engaging learning experience for photographers of all levels on this tour.

Itinerary

Day One: Arrive in St. John’s, Newfoundland before 4:00pm. We’ll meet for a group dinner to get to know each other and review our itinerary for the workshop. After our meeting we will head to Cape Spear to photograph the sun setting at the most easterly point in North America.

Day Two and Three: We will focus on our favorite locations around the St. Johns area that we have been visiting for the last 10 years.

Day Four: Today is a transition day. Today we move from St. Johns to Bonavista Peninsula. During our drive today you can expect lots of photography at some of our seaside locations.

Day Five and Six: Over these two days we will photograph all of our favorite coast lines and lighthouses that we have visited for the last 10 years. We have also scheduled our private boat tour to explore the coast lines, icebergs and marine wildlife in the area.

Day Seven: This morning we’ll start our trip back to St. John’s, stopping for lunch and photography along the way. We will have you back at St. Johns airport by 2:00pm so you can catch your international flights home.
